Times Tables Test
This times tables test gives you multiplication facts from the 2 to the 12 times table in random order for 60 seconds. Type each answer – it is accepted the moment it is correct – and see how many you can do in a minute.
It is a quick way to check which tables are automatic and which still need work, whether you are a pupil learning them for the first time or an adult brushing up.
How to use it for practice
- Take the test once a day and note your score – the best score is saved for you.
- Watch for the questions that make you hesitate and practise those tables separately.
- Aim for accuracy first; speed follows once facts are memorized.
- When your score stops rising, try the mixed 60-Second Sprint on the homepage.
Tricks for the harder tables
- 9s: 9 × n = 10 × n − n, so 9 × 7 = 70 − 7 = 63.
- 11s up to 9: repeat the digit – 11 × 6 = 66.
- 12s: 12 × n = 10 × n + 2 × n, so 12 × 8 = 80 + 16 = 96.
- Square facts (6×6, 7×7, 8×8) are worth memorizing on their own; many other facts are one step from them.
